Getting here
From Europe
KLM and TUI fly direct from Amsterdam to Flamingo Airport (BON), usually around ten hours.
From the US and Canada
Direct flights from Miami, Atlanta, Houston, Newark, New York and Toronto, mostly a few times a week and busiest in winter.
From Curaçao and Aruba
Short island hops of around half an hour with the regional airlines. Easy to combine with a stay on Curaçao or Aruba.
From the airport
The apartments are about 15 minutes by car from the airport. Most guests pick up their rental car on arrival and drive straight over.
Two fees to sort out before you fly
Neither is included in the price of your stay. You pay both directly, online, before you travel.
Tourist tax (visitor entry tax)
Every visitor to Bonaire pays this once per visit to the island government.
- $75 per person aged 13 and over
- $10 for children aged 12 and under
- Pay online up to 7 days before arrival and show the QR code at the airport, or pay by card at the airport counter before passport control
Nature fee
Everyone who goes into the sea needs a nature tag, whether you dive, snorkel, swim or kayak. It also covers Washington Slagbaai National Park and supports STINAPA, who look after the reef in front of the apartments.
- $40 per person, valid for the whole calendar year
- Children under 13 don't pay, unless they scuba dive
- Pay online and you get a QR code by email to show when asked

Diving, snorkeling and wingfoiling
Shore diving from the complex
The reef starts right in front of the building. Gear up at the apartment, walk in, and rinse everything under the outdoor shower afterwards. Dive shops for tanks and gear are a short walk away.
Dive sites all along the coast
Yellow-painted stones by the roadside mark the official dive sites. With a car and a few tanks you can explore a different site every day, no boat needed.
Klein Bonaire
The uninhabited island you see from the apartments. Take the water taxi from Kralendijk for a day of snorkeling on white-sand beaches. Bring water and shade, there are no facilities.
Lac Bay
On the east coast, with shallow, flat water and steady trade winds. The place for windsurfing and wingfoiling, with rental and lessons on the spot.
Help protect the reef: don't touch or stand on coral, don't feed the fish, and use reef-safe sunscreen.
Exploring the island
Washington Slagbaai
The national park in the north: rugged desert landscape, cacti, iguanas, flamingos and quiet bays. Go early, take plenty of water, and a sturdy car helps.
The south
Pink salt pans, the white salt pyramids, historic slave huts and flamingos feeding in the shallows. A beautiful drive around sunset.
Kralendijk
The small capital is within walking distance, with restaurants along the boulevard, beach bars, shops and the supermarkets for your groceries.
